Trump proposes ‘AMERICA IS BACK’ rally to replace fair after musicians boycott at george magazine

President Donald Trump proposed on Saturday an “AMERICA IS BACK” rally featuring himself to replace the Great American State Fair, after a majority of the musicians lined up for the event dropped out.

The Great American State Fair was scheduled to be from June 25 to July 10 as part of broader Freedom 250 programming celebrating the United States’s 250th anniversary of independence. Many musicians said they had learned of details regarding the event that made them feel it was politicized and “divisive.”

“I understand Artists are getting “the yips” having to do with their performance on Wednesday, so I am thinking about bringing the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime, and he does so without a guitar, the man who loves our Country more than anyone else, and the man who some say is the Greatest President in History (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these highly paid, Third Rate “Artists,” and give a major speech, rallying the Country forward like I have done ever since being President,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

“I don’t want so-called “Artists” that get paid far too much money, who aren’t happy,” the president continued. “I only want to be surrounded by Happy People, Smart People, Successful People, and People that know how to WIN. So, by copy of this TRUTH, I am ordering my Representatives to look at the feasibility of doing an AMERICA IS BACK Rally on Wednesday, Washington, D.C., same time, same location.”

Martina McBride, the country singer who was scheduled to perform on the fair’s opening night, said she was misled about the event’s nature.

“I saw it as just a bigger version of so many state fairs I have performed at over the years,” the singer wrote. “Sounds fun, right? Wholesome even. Yesterday things started changing and what we were told is, in fact, not what is happening.”

McBride did not elaborate about what changed in her social media post. Another scheduled artist, Young MC, offered more details in his decision to withdraw from the fair.

“Despite the claims by the organizers that the event is non-partisan, Spin Magazine describes it as Trump-backed,” the rapper said. “I hope to perform in d.c. in the near future at an event that is not so politically charged.”

The only musician who confirmed his participation in the Great American State Fair as of Saturday was Vanilla Ice, a hip-hop artist best known for his work in the 1990s.

MAJORITY OF PERFORMERS SLATED FOR GREAT AMERICAN STATE FAIR AMERICA 250 CELEBRATION DROP OUT

“We are all one. This is not a political platform. This is celebrating America’s birthday,” he wrote on Instagram. “Nothing too serious just enjoying some fun, dancing and great memories. Hope you guys can join us.”

Freedom 250 was an organization established by the Trump administration to complement America 250, which was started by a bipartisan group of congressmen and private citizens.
