President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping may have just said goodbye to one another after Xi’s state visit to the U.S., but the two superpower world leaders have already pledged to meet two more times before the end of the year.
“President Xi and Madam Peng have just left D.C., heading for China,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday. “The meeting was one of Friendship, Strength, and Success, for both China and the U.S.A. We will be meeting again in November, in China, and then at the G20 in December, in Miami, Florida. Much has been, and will be, accomplished. I look forward to our next meeting!”

The November meeting will likely be on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders’ Meeting and CEO summit, which China is holding that month in Shenzhen.
Xi’s state visit, his second after being hosted by former President Barack Obama in 2015, was a three-day trip, which included Trump greeting him at Joint Base Andrews.
The pair then took part in a welcome ceremony, including a military review in the White House’s Rose Garden and opening remarks in the Grand Foyer, before hours of meetings, a quick tour of the new helipad on the South Lawn, and Thursday night’s state dinner.
Friday’s schedule included a tea and a tour of the National Archives to show the communist president the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

Trump, accompanied by first lady Melania Trump and Xi’s wife Peng Liyuan, told reporters in the National Archives’ rotunda that he and his Chinese counterpart “had a great meeting.”
“Great for the farmers,” he said. “Great for everybody.”
