President Donald Trump is set to hold an event announcing the new “Freedom Haulers” trucking program on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the White House.
The program is aimed at helping U.S. veterans begin careers in trucking, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced as he unveiled the program earlier Thursday on X. Duffy touted that the program can help veterans who get behind the wheel of big rigs make up to a six-figure salary, secure medical benefits, and have a flexible schedule.
“ILLEGALS OUT, VETERANS IN,” Duffy wrote. “Our new campaign, FREEDOM HAULERS, is reclaiming America’s highways and putting Vets in the driver’s seat.”
