President Donald Trump ripped former national counterterrorism official Joe Kent and Fox News host Jessica Tarlov, calling the former a loser and the latter one of the worst people on TV.
While in the air on his way to Las Vegas, Trump took the lull to take to Truth Social and rip into two figures particuarly grating on him. Kent earned Trump’s ire when he abruptly quit his position last month over the war in Iran, while Tarlov has been a longtime critic of Trump on Fox News.
“Who’s dumber, Tucker Carlson or Joe Kent? It’s very interesting!” Trump began his post on Kent, comparing him unfavorably with another figure who annoyed him.
The president then recounted his experience with Kent, saying he instructed his team to give him a role in the White House because he felt bad that Kent had lost two elections and his wife.
In Trump’s telling, “feeling sorry for him after the two Election losses, I told my people, ‘Hire him for the White House. Give him a job, make him feel good, he lost his wife and two Elections.’ They did so and, while I rarely saw him, I certainly didn’t expect disloyalty, but that’s what I got,” Trump said.
“He was really a SLEAZEBAG, and some would say, on top of it all, A LEAKER! I don’t know whether or not that was true, but next time, NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!” he added.
Trump lumped Kent in with three other hard-line conservatives who had recently turned against the president, deriding them all as losers.
“Kent is a LOSER, just like Tucker [Carlson], Candace [Owens], Megyn [Kelly], and the rest of them are LOSERS — You’re born that way, LOW IQ, and there’s not a d*** thing they’re going to be able to do about it!” he concluded.
Trump then tuned in to Fox News and 20 minutes later vented his frustrations about the host most critical of him on the network.
“I am watching one of the Least Attractive and Talented People on all of Television, Jessica Tarlov. Her voice is so grating and terrible, I had to ‘turn her off!’ Her Democrat soundbites are FAKE. She makes up ‘Poll Numbers,’ and nobody challenges her, because she is so boring. I have among the best Poll Numbers I have ever had, and why shouldn’t I, ALL THE COUNTRY DOES IS WIN,” he wrote.
“GET HER OFF THE AIR, SHE IS BAD FOR OUR COUNTRY!” Trump continued, abruptly switching to criticizing Kelly, Carlson, and Owens, who he said were “dying fast” and were always “FAKE MAGA.”

Trump made the comments less than an hour before he was set to host a roundtable touting his tax policies, especially his “no tax on tips” policy, a promise he made throughout his 2024 presidential campaign.
Trump has sought to refocus some attention on the positive attributes of his economic policies as the Republican Party gears up for midterm elections. Attention has been consumed by the war with Iran, which has seen the annihilation of much of Iran’s military at minimal U.S. cost but also massive economic damage to the world economy.
